P- Partnerships between Educators, families, children, management and the community are valued. We encourage family involvement in every part of our curriculum. This promotes positive relationships with families, allowing us to work collaboratively by supporting continuity of care.
H- Health and safety of all persons using our service is of utmost importance, and we believe every child has the right to feel safe and secure both physically and emotionally. Our service is committed to creating a child-safe environment where every child is protected, empowered, and supported to feel secure, respected, and heard.
I- Individual personalities. Each Educator and child is unique with their own individual patterns, strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes, family backgrounds, beliefs & attitudes. All these differences should be valued and respected. We will ensure children feel included and accepted into our service as our Centre family.
L- Learning through play and having fun. We want to allow children time to develop their own sense of autonomy & independence. We believe in the importance of supporting children to explore experiment, discover and be creative as they grow. Through supporting children's ideas, we are creating a learning environment where children feel like they belong. They learn to appreciate the friendships /partnerships they form, & moments they share. This helps to form the foundations of their own unique identity.
O- Opportunities for fun, freedom, choice, individuality and positive experiences will be provided and supported by Educators. Our program will be led by the children's interests as we follow the Early Years Learning Framework. Holistic approaches to teaching and learning recognizes the connectedness of mind, body and spirit.
S- Sustainability. We hope to encourage children to show respect for their environment and recognize their responsibility in the preservation of their world. We encourage environmental sustainability by promoting and involving children in recycling, up cycling, water conservation, and growing seasonal vegetables and herbs to be used in our meals at the Centre. We as a service will continue ways to become more sustainable.
O- Our Educators are our biggest assets. A passion for learning, being positive and having patience are attributes we look for in Educators. We aim to employ Educators that love what they do, and we will constantly be providing ongoing professional development to further enhance skills and teaching techniques.
P- We are a Positive Living Skills Centre dedicated to supporting children’s wellbeing. Through our program, we help children understand and guide their thoughts, emotions, actions, and social interactions. We prioritize emotional regulation and work with a Psychotherapist who provides regular support to build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping strategies.
H- Happiness to our day. Happy little people equal happy big people and vice versa. We aim to create enjoyable moments every day. And create positive memories for children, families and Educators.
Y- Young Minds “Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children" (Walter Elias Disney). Our service takes pride & joy in being part of every young mind that enters our Centre. We aim to prepare children for ‘life’.
